Beth has been in the field of early childhood education for over 20 years. She became a Jewish Early Childhood Director in our community in 2012 and came to the Sherman ECC in 2016. Prior to directing, Beth spent eleven years teaching and later serving as an administrator in early childhood education in the Plano, Texas public schools.
Beth has a passion for Jewish early childhood education and creating an environment where children are growing and challenged. Beth feels parents are partners and that we work together in the classroom, at home, and in the synagogue to nurture each child and help them grow cognitively, socially, physically, and spiritually through a variety of learning experiences.
Creating community among the young families at Har Shalom is something Beth is passionate about. Shabbat, holidays and simchas are celebrated and middot are experienced in the school daily. Beth leads her teachers to the teach the values that we want our children to embrace and practice- to be kind and have empathy, to take care of each other and the community, to collaborate and solve problems, to persist through challenging tasks, to speak up when something is not right, to celebrate and embrace differences, and to love learning.
Active members of the Har Shalom community, Beth and her husband Gerry have two wonderful teen boys, Noah and Ari.
